I Just Wanna Go Night Night

Friday June 17

The past two days have been full travel days. Yesterday we began the day in Hawaii having breakfast and saying goodbye to our friends. Corey was kind enough to drive to the airport with us to help us drop off the rental car. We had a long, but uneventful flight back to San Jose, CA. Thankfully Annabelle slept on the flight. I just wish Liam had! We arrived in CA about 11pm and then picked up our van and got on the road again. Instead of meeting Sara (my mother in law) in her home in Tehachapi we decided to meet her in Salt Lake City Utah. It’s more of a direct drive for both of us, as we all make our way together to Montana. So last night our goal was to get to Reno, NV. The kids and I just wanted to go to bed (hence the title that is a direct quote from Annabelle), but Dave was anxious to get out of CA. It is not a reasonable place to purchase gas right now. When we got to NV, I saw gas for $6.03 and my first thought was “oh, I’m so glad gas is cheaper here.” My, how times have changed. Dave is a champion driver and got us safely to Reno at 5am. We found a hotel and all crashed. Thankfully we woke up just in time to get breakfast and then slept some more. We were able to get a late checkout at 1pm. And then we hit the road again! Today we drove 5 hours to Elko, NV. Caleb thinks it’s so funny we went to bed at 5am and we’re now eating dinner at 10pm. He says we’re party animals! Our goal tomorrow is to make it to Salt Lake City and possibly see Great Basin National Park on the way.

Goodbye Hawaii

Leaving Oahu

After a short layover, we leave Maui. The runway was almost on the water!

Josh and Liam were seat buddies on this flight.

We made it to Reno, NV!

On the road again…leaving Reno

Our drive to Elko

We have gotten our use out of this travel potty. We would have been in trouble without it. Annabelle chooses the most inopportune times to yell “I have to go RIGHT NOW!” And the adventures continue…
