A Day of Play

Originally today we were going camping with Grandma at Yellowstone NP. However with the floods that recently happened our camping reservations were cancelled and we had to change plans. I felt that the above quote was very appropriate. We have to continue to be gracious and flexible on this adventure. So we gave the kids a choice of either going to the local children’s museum Explorationworks or going to the pool in town. I love how well Josh knows himself. He said, “mom, I would love the pool, but since the slides are closed it would be too hard for me to look at them.” Also, the high today was 71, so it was a little chilly to swim for this Florida crew. So off to the museum we went! In honor of one of the founders admission was free today, which was nice. There was a really cool exhibit called “Sportsology” with a variety of activities that tested strength, speed, and flexibility. The boys (all 4 of them) loved the fast ball pitch which tested your pitching speed. The water table, farm pretend play, giant light bright, and amazing airway tunnels were also big hits.

In the evening we hung out at Aunt Myrna and Uncle Jerry’s, then went to a nearby restaurant that had a beautiful view of the Canyon Ferry Lake. We were all amazed at how much steak our boys ate. I keep having to remind myself I have 2 tween boys that eat a lot and I’m sure that will only increase!

In the pretend play toddler area there was a pond, boat, garden, store, and even a barn. This was definitely Annabelle’s favorite place to play.

This was a really cool water table. It had clouds that rained, places to fish, and the Dave was very interested in building waterways to the water wheel.
